Murder suspect in Milledgeville Road shooting turns self in

UPDATE:

Darrian Williams, the man wanted for the Thursday morning murder of a man on Milledgeville Road in Augusta, turned himself in to Richmond County investigators.

He is being booked into jail on the following charges:

  • 1 count Murder
  • 1 count Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Crime
  • 1 count Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon,
  • 2 counts Cruelty to Children in the 3rd Degree

In the early hours Thursday morning, the Richmond County Sheriff's Office responded to 2526 Milledgeville Road in response to a shooting.

Officers found 31-year-old Larry Bernard Elam inside the home on lot #E-12 with a gunshot wound to the neck. Elam was transported to Georgia Regents University, where he was pronounced dead.

Investigators are searching for 24-year-old Darrian Antwonn Williams, who is wanted for Elam's murder. Witnesses say that Williams produced a firearm and shot Elam following an argument.
