Georgia's governor says at least one weather-related death has been reported during a storm that dumped ice, snow and freezing rain on northern and central Georgia.
Gov. Nathan Deal said Wednesday that a Butts County man died after he fell on ice.
Glen Goens, director of the Butts County Office of Homeland Security, said the 50-year-old man was going to his neighbor's house at 9 p.m. Tuesday but never made it there. A family member found him dead on the front porch of his own home at 5:30 a.m. Wednesday.
Goens says it appears that the man fell on the ice and hurt himself before trying to get back to his house.
The man's official cause of death is unclear and authorities have not released the man's identity.
